- Letter from Vanessa Bell, Cleeve House, Seend, Wiltshire, to Duncan Grant. She and Angelica are spending Christmas with Clive's family. Bell relates a dinner in London with Julian and John Tresidder Sheppard, and advises Grant to change the title of a painting to 'The red sofa' (perhaps his 1917 portrait of Bell). Also mentions Cory and Hannah Bell, Clinker the dog, Roger Fry, Ovens the Bells' chauffeur, and Leonard and Virginia Woolf.
