Description
Our little garden
2 April
My Annerl!
Give yourself up to me
Unrobed and unguarded
As in sun or at sleep
You give yourself up
To your dreams.
I fell in love with the blossom,
But more deeply I love
The style and the leaf
The sap and the roots
Below ground.
Come not as a guest
Who anxiously hides
Behind jokes, games and laughter
To get away from yourself
And from me.
Come to me instead
The way you seek refuge
In yourself
Having been alone
Among gregarious guests
Come into and be me!
As I am you already!
That we in the threatening
Snow of solitude
Might feel warmth
The one of the other!
Yours
