My dear Master Pepi
I'd be very glad if you would blow a trumpet for Maulbertsch in England, but please don't omit anything other than these lines: 'And so my sincere (
) is comparable to Mozart's.' Which should instead read: 'It is high time that people in England were made aware of the singular importance of this (
) is comparable to Mozart's.' You could title the essay something like this: 'Why came Baroque art in collision with the new bourgoisie class?' It's very important to me that this well nailed shoe should strike the backside of our esteemed public, so I would ask you not to abbreviate or unnail it. Since the latter pages contain a few typographical errors that the poor Amalthea was unable to rectify before his death, it would be good if you could send a translation to me before you submit it to the magazines you mention.
What's happening about a German translation of my Appeal for a Decent Peace? And where's all the champagne?
Embrace my beautyfull one (and her little witch) and yourself, from your always affectionate OK
Come and visit at easter!
