New York
4.XI.66
My dearest friend Hodinus
I got your wonderfull book, the result of a 20 year's long devoted work, a few days after the opening of my Exhibition here, with a almost childish vanity I showed it to many of the invited guests who are all keen to buy it as soon as it will be available at the New-York book-shops. My own copy, which you kindly send me, I presented to the director of the Museum of Modern Art at the occasion of a large reception in my honour as he showed a great interest in acquiring copies of it for the museum. It is brilliantly written so far I could see after perusing it and the illustrations are most carefully chosen. Give my love to Pamela, to Sir William Montagu Pollock and be heartily embraced by your very gratefull OK
