For our June A Closer Look, Anne Barlow, Director of Tate St Ives, will be introducing the Huguette Caland exhibition. This is the first museum exhibition of Caland’s work in the UK and marks her growing international profile and celebrates an artist defined by her uncompromising perspective on art and life.
Anne became Director of Tate St Ives in 2017. Previously, she was Director of Art in General, New York (2007–2016), Curator of Education and Media Programs at the New Museum, New York (1999–2006), and Curator of Contemporary Art and Design at Glasgow Museums, Scotland (1994–1999). Across these roles, she has led on programmatic and institutional vision and strategies, overseen museum collections, new commissions, artist residencies and public programmes, and managed numerous international collaborations.
