An exhibition of new work made by Ahmet Doğu İpek during his 2025 residency at Porthmeor Studios. He mainly works with watercolour, ink, and charcoal on paper, using a slow and detailed process. His art explores how the built environment and nature connect, often using repeating patterns and shapes to reflect natural forms.
İpek’s work moves between abstract and realistic images. He builds up layers of marks, focusing on small changes in light, texture and movement. His drawings and paintings look at how materials change over time, inspired by natural processes and human-made structures.
This exhibition is part of a collaboration between Tate St Ives and SAHA - supporting contemporary artists from Turkey.
