This event is a unique opportunity to experience the artist Yayoi Kusama’s work created while she lived in New York, between 1957 and 1973. Drawing upon photographic and filmed records, learn about Kusama’s response to the cultural, social and political changes America went through in the 1960s and 1970s. This is also a chance to experience two immersive art installations which were created by the artist later on as a response to those years of creative practice and Kusama’s personal life experiences in America.
Prior to the tour, refreshments will be available between 17.15–18.00 in the McAulay Lunch Room, Level 0. The tour will be in the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror Rooms exhibition, Level 4, Blavatnik Building, Tate Modern, Bankside.
