SIT invites members of the public to assemble their own personal cushions, to sit anywhere in the Turbine Hall and enjoy the events happening during Festival. A selection of recycled newspapers, magazines and journals will be made available for the public to shred, allowing them to stuff their cushions according to taste.
Biography
Catalina Pollak-Williamson is an artist/architect interested in cross-disciplinary processes to explore the production of place in contemporary urban narratives. In the intersection between architecture, urban studies, public policy, history and critical theory, but operating within the visual arts, her work questions topics of accessibility and urban democracy through projects that invite participation and highlight public value. Since 2012, she has led Public Interventions, a research-based interdisciplinary platform for the discussion, curation and collaborative development of public art projects that engage with the social history and spatial politics of pu¬blic space.
