Celebrated within traditions of Taiwanese, auteur and slow cinema alike, Tsai Ming-liang is one of the most unique voices in cinema today. He is known for his long shots, elliptical narratives, painterly approaches to light and colour, and poignant portrayals of urban and sexual alienation.
He joins us to present the UK premieres of recent feature films Your Face and Afternoon, a 35mm film print of Goodbye, Dragon Inn and a screening of his short films he has selected specially for the occasion. Tsai will also lead a masterclass.
This programme has been made possible thanks to the contribution of the Ministry Of Culture Of Taiwan.
