Joseph’s film is inspired by the work of Roy DeCarava (1919–2009), the pioneering American photographer whose work features in the Tate Modern exhibition Soul of a Nation. Joseph is an artist and filmmaker based in Los Angeles. This event also includes screenings of Joseph’s select earlier works. The screenings are followed by a discussion with Kahlil Joseph and Tate curator Zoe Whitley.
