Take part in hands-on experiments and explore how self-images and other marks we leave in the world change who we are and how we feel

We are used to capturing our images on camera and displaying them for others to see, either to make an impression on someone or to make them understand how we feel. Explore how the images of ourselves that we choose to produce and share, shape our sense of self.

Specially curated by philosophers and neuroscientists from the University of London, our workshops at Tate Exchange will introduce you to fascinating areas of research around identity. Discover more about your sense of self, and how it is constantly being modelled and reproduced.

This event is programmed by the Institute of Philosophy, University of London, a Tate Exchange Associate.

About the Centre for Experimental Aesthetics, Institute of Philosophy, University of London

CREATE (Centre for Experimental Aesthetics), at the University of London, connects the humanities to the neurosciences, to advance our understanding of how culture works, and how the arts and new technologies affect our bodies and minds.

This year, CREATE teams up with researchers from the University of Munich, in Germany.
