Starting with the rejection of museums by artists like Kazimir Malevich, participants will learn about the 'complex Marxists expositions' of the 1920s, the development of Soviet art and art institutions and the role and aesthetics of Russian Cosmism. In the second half of the workshop, participants will re-imagine Soviet futurism within our present age of automation, using drawing, moulding and discussion to create possible futures for creative practice.
This workshop is open to all, no previous experience with creative practice is required.
We encourage participants to attend the morning discussion Soviet Russia in Contemporary Art.
