Jenny Holzer’s powerful public artwork will illuminate Tate Modern’s chimney with a collection of aching, inspiring and expert testimony from activists, leaders and many others addressing the climate crisis.
The projection will start at dusk each evening, or approximately 17.45, until 22.00.
Holzer’s work is the first in a series of light projections that will illuminate landmarks across the UK. Co-curated and produced by Artwise Curators and Shore Art Advisory, the series is presented in collaboration with Art For Your World. This is a movement by WWF to engage the art world in the fight against climate change.
Holzer’s work headlines the Power to Change weekend which coincides with COP26, the 26th annual United Nations summit on climate change. Taking place in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12 2021, it will see world leaders, government representatives, business and citizens come together for twelve days of talks.
