For the 2017 edition of ‘Tate Modern & You’ photographer Romain Mader will explore the dreamlife of residents of Rotherhithe as well as stories of the neighbourhood. These narratives will inspire a specially created backdrop and props which will be photographed and feature in a newspaper distributed in July 2017. Romain Mader is a Swiss photographer who explores themes of gender-representation, loneliness and romance by creating fictional narratives within his images. ‘Tate Modern and You’ is a newspaper created annually by an artist in partnership with a neighbourhood or community group in South London.
Social Dreaming workshops
Led by a Social Dreaming facilitator and Romain Mader, residents of Rotherhithe will be encouraged to share their dreams with their neighbours and to make connections. These workshops will involve conversation and some simple creative exercises (no experience necessary) lunch provided.
