This performance, étrangler le temps (To Strangle Time), will appear sculpture-like and relatively still among the movement of the public on the Turbine Hall ramp.
In this piece, Charmatz and Huynh freely interpret Odile Duboc’s boléro 2, elongating the original movements. The soundtrack draws out Maurice Ravel’s iconic orchestral piece Boléro.
As part of a special weekend programme developed for Tate, Charmatz and Huynh return to Duboc’s original boléro 2. étrangler le temps and boléro 2 are presented as a counterpoint to the vast collective performance of 10000 Gestures.
Presented by Tate Modern and Sadler's Wells.
