An evening presenting three of the world's future grand urban cultural projects, to critically explore the use of architecture and art as an urban strategy. Through discussion of the forthcoming Louvre Abu Dhabi (Saadiyat Island, UAE), West Kowloon Cultural District (Hong Kong, China) and New Holland Island (St. Petersburg, Russia), the event will preview and dissect the design, ambition and significance of these forthcoming cultural destinations. Featuring the projects’ respective architects – Ateliers Jean Nouvel, Foster + Partners and WORKac – alongside critics and clients, including Aric Chen, curator of architecture and design at Hong Kong's future M+ museum, and Marina Barber, Iris Foundation. The event will be chaired by Edwin Heathcoate, architecture critic of the Financial Times.
