Vivian Suter’s large maze of tropical paintings, are poised to brighten up the winter months at Tate Liverpool. Painted floating fabric canvases, loaded with colour, inspired by the tropical landscapes and the natural environment of Guatemala will take over the ground floor gallery. Using expressive painterly printmaking techniques, this two-week course will explore the versatility of gelli plate monoprints, using the bold motifs echoed in Suters work as a source of inspiration. Exploring mark-making, masking and colour over laying onto silk fabric samples with a riot of tropical colours. This course is the perfect way to transport yourself to the tropics and escape the winter blues.
