Throughout November and December 2017 Tate Liverpool worked with Edge Hill University and the staff and children of LIPA, Belle Vale and Kensington primary schools to co-investigate experiences of learning and their relation to physical spaces and contexts. The children considered both school and gallery environments and their experiences will be presented in Tate Exchange alongside blueprints for their own designs for learning contexts.
This research contributes to a wider programme investigating the potential for a schools-in-residence programme at the gallery. The installation will invite visitors to contribute their own thoughts and ideas on how to develop physical, emotional and intellectual spaces in the gallery for children’s creative learning.
