Join language investigators, Quad Collective, for a series of workshops and activities about the words we see in art galleries. Have your say by removing words from the art world vocabulary, creating new ones and discussing the impact and effect of what we read about art.
Language Buffet invites us to create a new collaborative language for art, glean words from gallery guides and other institutional texts and then hacking and editing them into a new list.
Vocabulary Clinic is an opportunity to share opinions and look critically at the language used in art galleries, from artwork labels to published articles.
Focus Group is the last part of the discussion, where the final edit for a new proposed art language will be produced. Looking back at words, thoughts and ideas shared in the previous events, this discussino will delve deeper into the effects and impact of what we read about art.
This series is programmed by Quad Collective, a Tate Exchange Liverpool Associate.
