Making It features young artists who have been invited to make new works specifically for the Gallery.
Exploring some of the issues surrounding contemporary art practice, the exhibition focuses on process and participation: the mechanics of making art. Works range from installations and sculpture to painting and drawing using both traditional art and 'non art' materials.
The exhibition features works by Daphne Wright, who will construct a pear-tree hedge made from tin foil and wire; works by James Rielly and Padraig Timoney; a quilted room with hair clad interior by Sarah Raine and an installation by Janet Hodgson using sugar and molasses which makes reference to the Gallery's former life as a bonded warehouse.
