In Response to…is a musical series that invites performers to appraise an artwork by a celebrated artist, then interpret the selected piece into music. With no limitations imposed, artists are free to decide upon the style and length of their compositions. The result is an evening of innovative and diverse music.
Join us from 19.00 to view Francis Bacon: Invisible Rooms then listen to each of the musical responses inspired by the artist’s work, live in the gallery. Curated by Liverpool music magazine Bido Lito!, Merseyside Improvisers Orchestra, Lo-Five and The Gentle Sex will all be preforming live and in response to Francis Bacon.
Make the most of your evening and head to Tate Café before or after the performances for more live music as well as a variety of hot and tasty dishes including mac and cheese, crispy chicken wings and sticky BBQ glazed rack of ribs with a pickled apple slaw. As always, we have a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available, including a variety of real ales.
