Harris will read from Mixed-Race Superman, which considers how two very different men – Barack Obama and Keanu Reeves – have helped transform the perception of mixed-race identity. Considering his own Anglo-Indonesian heritage, Harris will further explore this contested identity and how it has been used and misused across literature, art and film. He will also read from his new poetry collection RENDANG.
This talk coincides with our exhibition Theaster Gates: Amalgam.
