Christoph Platz will consider the role of documenta in the post-war period, and how this became a symbol for change in Germany. Sixty years after the founding of documenta, the quintennial has become a game changer once more by splitting itself in two: one exhibition in Kassel, Germany and another in Athens, Greece. Platz will question what it means to produce such an exhibition; how does an art work materialise from a sketch to what is displayed in a venue; and what makes or breaks this process.
