By the courtesy of the Art Gallery Committee, the Trustees and Director of the National Gallery were able to show the collection of works by the English Pre-Raphaelite painters belonging to the Corporation of Birmingham at Millbank for several months.
The first works by Members of the Pre-Raphaelite School purchased were the unfinished Boat of Love and Our Lady of Pity, by Rossetti. These were followed by The Two Gentlemen of Verona, The Last of England, Beata Beatrix, The Doubtful Coin and others.
