Steve McQueen’s Year 3 Project features photographic portraits of thousands of London schoolchildren. This special after-hours tour explores how British artists have represented children and childhood throughout history.
Led by the art historian, writer and broadcaster Ferren Gipson, the tour looks at paintings, sculptures, photographs and video works from the eighteenth century to the present day, and explores how issues of gender and class have shaped artistic depictions of children.
The tour concludes with consideration of McQueen’s epic new work
