Singing in Space was developed in collaboration with a choir, and inhabits the spaces of Tate Britain - filling normally quiet areas of the Gallery with singing voices. Filling the cracks between the Gallery and the world outside with songs and melodies, harmonies and choruses, Singing in Space makes connections between artist and community with tunes, sung opinion, and the joy of singing.
Singing in Space invited a choir to respond to Tate Britain and the world immediately around them – to observe, react and collect ideas; turning them into a new song, which the choir sings back in a live performance in the gallery space – back out to the world, sometimes unexpectedly.
