Children, notoriously starved in respect of the visual arts and often even of the visual decencies in their own homes, should be given a chance to enjoy them at school: this exhibition (organised by the Society for Education in Art) offered a means of putting this principle into practice by selecting and exhibiting the kind of pictures and sculpture suitable for children and by encouraging education authorities to buy them.
