Kerstin Mogull, currently Director of Strategy at Clear Channel International and previously a member of the senior team at the BBC, has been appointed Managing Director at Tate. She takes over from Alex Beard, now CEO at the Royal Opera House.
From 2000 Kerstin filled a number of senior roles at the BBC in the fields of policy, strategy, digital and operations. Between 2008 and 2012 she was Chief Operating Officer at BBC Future Media &Technology, where she rolled out a range of online initiatives and global partnerships to bring creative and editorial content to audiences using new digital technologies. She led planning for iPlayer, the BBC’s groundbreaking catch-up service and played a leadership role on some of the Corporation’s major capital projects. She brings extensive international experience, having worked in continental Europe and the US before joining the BBC.
Kerstin was appointed through open competition and selected by a panel of Tate trustees, led by Lord Browne. She will join Tate in January 2014.
