Tate Aquires Major New Works of Contemporary Art at Frieze

The following works have been acquired as gifts to the Tate Collection thanks to the £150,000 Outset/Frieze Art Fair Fund to benefit the Tate Collection. The Fund is organised by the Outset Contemporary Art Fund.

International curators Udo Kittelmann (Director, MMK: Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Mann, Germany) and Lisette Lagnado (Curator

NeMe: 27 Bienal de São Paulo, Brazil) selected the works with Tate curators Ann Gallagher, Jessica Morgan and Frances Morris. The works will remain on display for the duration of the Fair and will be presented to the Tate Trustees in November

In 2003, Frieze and Tate collaborated to establish the first acquisitions fund connected to an art fair. The Outset Contemporary Art Fund brought together a group of London collectors who have since contributed in excess of £500,000 to enable Tate to annually acquire major new works fair by significant international artists. Since 2003 the Fund has enabled acquisitions  of works by: Fikret Atay, Olafur Eliasson, Anri Sala and Yutaka Sone Gabriel Kuri, Simon Starling, Catherine Sullivan, Dan Perjovschi, Trisha Donnelly, Philippe Parreno, Bruno Serralongue, Rivane Neuenschwander / Cao Guimaraes, Christopher Williams, Thomas Hirschhorn, Anna Barriball, David Shrigley, Pawel Althamer, Martin Boyce, Jeremy Deller & Alan Kane, Jesper Just, Mark Leckey, Scott Myles, Frank Nitsche, Henrik Olesen, Roman Ondák, The Atlas Group/Walid Raad, Pae White, Stanley Brouwn, Alexandre da Cunha, David Lamelas, Zoe Leonard, Daria Martin, Matthew Monahan, Deimantas Narkevicius and Anri Sala.
