Tate Appoints Katherine Montague as Director of People

Katherine Montague has been appointed Director of People at Tate, joining the team in April.

In this new role, she oversees the Human Resources team to support the delivery of our five-year plan, enabling all of Tate’s staff to thrive and developing our workforce to more closely reflect the UK population.

She has led HR teams and acted as strategic HR advisor and consultant at organisations including the Royal Academy of Arts, the Geffrye Museum and most recently the Natural History Museum. At all these organisations, she has an excellent track record on promoting staff wellbeing, developing people and managers, strengthening diversity and inclusion, and modernising and updating HR systems and processes.

Vicky Cheetham, Chief Operating Officer at Tate, said, ‘Katherine’s long-term commitment to strengthening diversity and ensuring staff development and wellbeing clearly aligns with Tate’s vision and values. Tate’s dedicated staff are at the core of everything we do. We look forward to working with Katherine to help shape the future of our organisation through our people.’
