Franck Petitgas appointed Tate Trustee

The Prime Minister has today appointed Franck Petitgas as a Tate Trustee. His term of appointment will be for four years from 18 February 2008.

Franck Petitgas will bring to the board exceptional expertise from a distinguished career in investment banking. Born and educated in France, he started his career in the City with SG Warburg & Co Ltd in 1986 and in 1993 joined Morgan Stanley & Co in New York. Based in London, he is currently Global Co-Head of Investment Banking for Morgan Stanley. He is an active supporter of the visual arts in the United Kingdom and is a passionate advocate of Latin American contemporary art. He is a Council Member of the Serpentine Gallery and of Artangel.

Mr Petitgas holds no other public appointments.
