Tate Liverpool has a fantastic activity programme for all the family to enjoy this Autumn. All Tate Liverpool family activities are completely free, with no booking necessary. From 4 November, Tate Liverpool will become a designated Children’s University (CU) Learning Destination, where children can earn CU credits for the activities they participate in.
All Autumn family activities and events are supported by Tate Liverpool Members.
Wibbly Wobbly Wandering Lines: The Big Draw at Tate Liverpool

Be part of Tate Liverpool’s award winning Big Draw programme for children and families this Autumn. Centred around Tate Liverpool’s Tate Collection displays, DLA Piper Series: This is Sculpture, visitors are invited to spend time in the galleries making their own transparent drawings inspired by their favourite artworks. Taking their drawings back into the studio, participants can then learn how to transform them into three dimensional wire sculptures. Part of The Big Draw.
Stuff and Nonsense: Curious Family Adventures in Wonderland

Don’t be late for a very important date at Tate Liverpool this autumn! Visit the Albert Dock gallery for a fun-filled family afternoon in Wonderland, to celebrate the opening weekend of the special exhibition Alice in Wonderland (4 November 2011 – 29 January 2012, admission charges apply) with walkabout theatre, a Mad Hatter’s tea party, storytelling and creative activities.
Follow Alice and her friends on a walkabout journey into Wonderland performed by the Curious Company. Don’t be late for the White Rabbit, look out for the talking Caterpillar and follow Alice into a game of croquet with the Red Queen. Visitors are encouraged to come along in costume as their favourite Alice in Wonderland character.
In the studio, there will be the opportunity to create your own Wonderland adventures by making a hand-held looking glass with artist Sophie Cullian (ages 5+). Look out for John Hughes in the galleries who will be telling tall tales inspired by Alice in Wonderland and then join the Mad Hatter and his tea party friends for fun in Tate Café with more slapstick theatre from the Curious Company.

Journey into Wonderland

Artist Sophie Cullinan invites visitors to take a look into Wonderland by creating their own ‘holescope.’ Part kaleidoscope, part periscope, the holescope is a special portal into another world! Each holescope is different, and once created can be inserted into a large spherical Wonderland to experience a unique look into Alice’s world.
Children participating in the Children’s University scheme can earn CU credits at Journey into Wonderland.
