BP Saturdays: Tiny Tate is a free family event for children under 5s and their siblings. Join us at Tate Britain to explore light, sound and space all around the BP British Art Displays. Have fun by using your body to make soundscapes, play with light and become part of live installations as you swing, twist and bounce to the rhythm.

Highlights include:

  • Take part in a special sound installation in which music and sound is composed based on how you move; sensors will detect your movement through a space to activate a musical composition.
  • Create abstract geometric postcards to take home using the photographic printing process, cyanotype, in response to works from the collection.
  • Become part of a performance based on objects in the contemporary BP British Art displays.
  • Capture an image with the help of an artist by passing objects over a digital scanner and materials inspired by sculpture in the Collection to create something more imaginative than simply a scanned object!
  • Explore the ancient art of Camera Obscura to see works from the collection in a different light.
  • Drop in and re-imagine your surroundings by creating your own non-permanent shelter in the gallery, inspired by environmental art.

Tiny Tate is designed for all family members, including parents and grandparents, to take part in together. So drop in, take part and enjoy Tate Britain!
