We visited the place where Moshi Monsters are made with six year-old Jude. Jude sent us some of his brilliant cartoon drawings that he made during a visit to Tate Britain.
Well, the people at the Moshi Monsters studio were so impressed by his drawings that they said Jude and his dad could come and see how they create the moshlings!
The visit took place in London and we saw how the designers use pencils, touch-screens and computer software to make Moshi Monsters. Plus, Jude took his sketchbook so that the designers at the studio could see more of his own drawing skills.
Here's what happened:
Click through the slide show below to see the story of Jude's visit:

We start the tour with Jude looking at the gallery of moshling drawings...lots to take in here!

Welcome to Monstro City!

We pass through the meeting area...

...and discover a giant colouring wall! All visitors can have a go, and here's Jude in action!

Katsuma is finished! Jude's is the orange and yellow one

Weeeeeeeeeeeee! ◕‿◕ There's an actual slide in their studio. This is how children and adults get to the floor below

Next, Jude shows one of the artists at the studio his own drawings and cartoons in his sketchpad...

...and here they are close up some of Jude's own drawings! The Moshi Monsters crew are impressed by the work of this skilful six year-old!

Next we see how moshlings are made. They start life as a crayon or pencil drawing on paper...

...and then the drawings get traced from the paper onto the computer and colour is added

Now Jude has a go on what he calls The Drawing Machine. He uses the stylus to draw directly on the screen

...and this is the result

Next Jude meets more designers at their desks where he shows the sketchbook of his drawings to them – they are so impressed by his work

After that, we see the process of how a character is made. Here you can see they begin with hand-drawn ideas that get developed on the computer

Then Jude has a go at creating a new character! He said this digital drawing pad was more difficult to use

As the tour comes to an end, we look at art, drawings and photographs that the Moshi Monsters studio have been sent by young people

The tour has finished, and feeling inspired by what he has seen, Jude starts to work on drawing his very own moshling!
Jude left the Moshi Monsters studio feeling inspired, and he said his favourite bits were the drawing machine and the slide. Are you feeling inspired to draw too? If so get your pad, pens and pencils out and create some characters!
