A distant view of what appears to be Vöcklabruck and its parish church is depicted parallel to the gutter of the sketchbook. Inscriptions at top right read ‘Val[...] | Road’, ‘[...]’, ‘Road’. See also Tate D31451; Turner Bequest CCCXI 18a.
The spire of Vienna’s Cathedral of St Stephen is also recorded, continued from a study of the south-west façade of the building rendered on Tate D31452–D31452; Turner Bequest CCCXI 18a–19.
