This view of Vienna shows the city from the outskirts, with possibly the double-towered Servite Church, the Cathedral and St Peter’s Church in the distance at right. A small sketch of the Vienna skyline is rendered at top left. Parallel to the gutter of the sketchbook Turner has also rendered a view of the Kahlenberg and Leopoldsberg, two hills overlooking Vienna.
