This view of Vienna was taken from the Upper Belvedere and looks across the formal gardens and lake towards the Lower Belvedere palace (in the middle distance at right) and the city beyond. The spire of St Michael’s Church and dome of St Peter’s Church can be seen to the left of St Stephen’s Cathedral at centre.
