This drawing is one part of a panoramic view of Namur which continues onto the folio opposite (Tate D29623; Turner Bequest CCXCVI 14). It shows the Sambre flowing around the fortified city, past the domed cathedral of St Aubin. ‘Hill’ and a second illegible word are inscribed at bottom left.
