With the page turned horizontally, the view is north from the Bacino, with the dome and campanile of San Zaccaria to the left above the Riva degli Schiavoni. Taller waterfront buildings now largely obscure the church apart from its dome. Near the centre the campanile of San Giorgio dei Greci is shown up the Rio dei Greci, and to the right is the then incomplete classical façade of the Pietà church, with its columns only half-finished as seen for example in a contemporary watercolour (Tate D32154; Turner Bequest CCCXVI 17).
This is an enlarged version, albeit in no greater detail, of the right-hand part of the view on folio 8 verso opposite (D31806). Compare also folio 50 verso (D31889).
