These are detailed studies of Rosenborg Palace, a castle constructed in the early seventeenth century as a summerhouse for Christian IV. Here Turner pictures it from inside the main entrance on the Øster Voldgade, with one sketch showing a northerly aspect and the other a southerly.
Turner has also rendered a cursory sketch of Copenhagen from the Øresund or Sound at the uppermost register.
