This may be a distant view of Petrín Hill in Prague, which was fortified in the fourteenth century by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV. The wall is crenelated and features battlements at regular intervals (see Tate D30347, D30353, D30365, D30761, D30775; Turner Bequest CCCI 26a, 29a, 36a, CCCIV 69, 76).
