This is a study of Dresden’s Frauenkirche, taken at the junction of Rampischegasse and Salzgasse. Next to the Frauenkirche are roughly dashed off jottings of what appear to be buildings, possibly taken on the carriage journey from Berlin to Dresden (see Tate D31042–D31043; Turner Bequest CCCVII 12–12a).
For more sketches of the city see Tate D30296–D30303, D30896–D30900, D31024–D31042; Turner Bequest CCCI 1–7, CCCVI 6a–9, CCCVII 3–12.
