This is a prospect of Dresden taken from the northern shore of the river Elbe, downstream from the Augustus Bridge. The foreground quayside is stacked with cargo and figures stand close to moored vessels. In the middle distance at left the dome of the Frauenkirche can be seen, with the Kreuzkirche, Cathedral and Castle.
