This seems to be a rapid sketch of Whitby, looking up from the harbour towards the parish church and the Priory on the cliff-top; another possibility is that it shows Scarborough Castle from the beach. The subject is continued on folio 15 recto opposite, and apparently again on folio 16 recto (D02415–D02416).
