This subject, continued on folio 5 verso opposite (D03979), may be a ‘sequel’ to that on folio 5 recto (D03978); a further episode seems to be noted on folios 6 verso–7 recto (D03981–D03982). If so, Turner has recorded the stages of an event on the sea-shore that he was to make use of many times in the course of his career.
