The distant range has a silhouette resembling that of Snowdon seen from the West, and this may be a view of that mountain from the Seiont Valley, drawn with the page turned horizontally; compare a watercolour drawing in the contemporary Hereford Court sketchbook (Tate D01352; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 98).
