This delicately tinted watercolour sketch depicts a broadly north-easterly view of Le Tréport in bright sunlight. Central is the Church of St-Jacques sitting on its little hill neighbouring the mouth of the harbour.1 The scene is framed by two sets of high cliffs, whose real distance to the town has been greatly diminished in the composition.
