With the page turned horizontally, the viewpoint is to the south-east of the castle. A finished watercolour, Caregcennan Castle, near Llandilo (currently untraced),1 is based on this drawing. For other views of Carreg Cennan, see under folio 23 recto (D01341; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 87).
