The topmost crocket of the market cross is continued on folio 8 verso opposite (the recto being D01254; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 5). Another drawing of the Cross is in the contemporary Dynevor Castle sketchbook (Tate D01474–D01475; Turner Bequest XL 7a–8).
Made with the page turned horizontally, this is one of a sequence of twelve drawings of Malmesbury in the present book; see under folio 2 recto (D01252; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 3).
