The bridge in the foreground crosses a small tributary of the Avon, which sweeps in an arc round the town to its east and north. Drawn with the page turned horizontally, this is one of a sequence of twelve drawings of Malmesbury in this book; see under folio 2 recto (D01252; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 3).

Blank, except for a slight continuation of the top of the market cross from the drawing on folio 9 recto opposite (D01255; Turner Bequest XXXVIII 6) ; stamped in brown ink with Turner Bequest monogram.
